Dear Chinese Friends:
On behalf of all the Chinese students and
scholars at OSU, we want to express our most sincere condolences
to Dr. Zhao Changyin and his family and the deepest sorrow
to the tragic loss of their young daughter, Xinyue.
We're willing to make our best efforts to
help the family go through this tragedy. We therefore, would
like to call for your donations to Dr. Zhao's family. This
fund will be named after Xinyue. The donation will be dedicated
to help cover the expenses of Dr. Zhao's daughter's funeral
service, his wife's medical treatment, and their parents'
visit to US.

We are grateful to the emergency crews and
volunteers at the scene, the St. Vincents Hospital, the Office
of International Education and the Department of Civil and
Environmental Engineering and Geodetic Science of the Ohio
State University, New York Consulate of the People's Republic
of China as well as the Tzu-Chi Foundation for their invaluable
help and enormous concerns after the accdient. Special thanks
to friends and colleagues who took turns to look after the
family overnight at the hospital.
