For US domestic flights and other international
(non-China) flights, it is usually more cost-efficient to book tickets
online. For China flights, in addition to checking out online deals
from major airline websites, you might want to make calls to various
travel agencies, give them information on your departure and destination
cities and time to travle, get their quotes, make comparisons among
the quotes and decide which agency you will use to book the ticket.
Number of transition airports during the flight is an important
factor you have to consider in addition to price. Friday and weekend
flights could be more expensive. But policies differ between airlines.
